The tablet is just amazing. Very smart design with a pen/nib holder, the two usb ports and the OLED light next to the buttons. Only I miss a manual. This is my first tablet, and I have some problems with putting my settings right. I would've liked a proper manual, not just a downloadable one. Also, the nib wear. When using your browser or anything it doesn't wear very noticably. But for drawing?? It's horrible. A few drawings and you can feel the sharp edge of the nib scratching on the surface. That is really a huge disappointment, especially seeing the big price. And a professional product shouln't wear like that. It should be able to handle some abuse. I rather have a smooth surface and never have to replace nibs than a 'paper like' one that destroys my nibs one by one. I don't recommend this product because of this. But if wacom offers an alternative or a proper solution you should definitely buy this tablet. It's great otherwise.

This is my first upgrade - had an Intuos2. Radial Menu is really helping productivity. I would prefer that the buttons require just a little less of a push to work, but that's a very minor complaint. I am working so much faster with this tablet because of it's buttons and radial menu and wheel. The pressure sensitivity is incredible, also.

My first graphic tablet. awesome in every aspect. the one star is for the nibs. they wear really fast. the felt nib lasted for only ONE illustration. other than that perfect. 5 stars for the tablet.

I love the intuos 4 tablet. Great control, and cool scroll wheel. Unfortunately my Photoshop 64-bit is messed up since i installed the driver for intuos 3 or 4. :-( So it only works with PS 32 bit. Hopefully this problem is quickly solved. But i still love the intuos 4.

I've been a wacom user for a few years, but I became a frequent user a few months ago. I used to have the Wacom One, which is really the basic one, but could work on it. I have tried Intuos 3 at Uni, and also tried Bamboo Fun Medium (white) and I loved it too, the texture of this tablet is awesome. I also tried Bamboo Fun (new model) the thin black one A6/A5 size small, and I didn't really like it, it does not feel the same as for the previous version. Now for Intuos 4 what I can say is that this tablet is really, really a great buy, you will not regret, the feeling is great, and it comes with 10 extra nibs in case your nibs wear quickly, which really does wear wuickly, but not as quickly as people say. I use my tablet at least 5-6 hours everyday and I'm still using the nib that came with the pen. It's about 2 weeks since I bought my tablet, and still fortunately I have no complains. I'm really happy with the discount offered for students and this saved me a few pounds. I use my tablet to draw, sketch, vectorization, retouch and for navigation too. If you can afford it, buy it, the medium size is half the size of an A4 sheet plus an extra inch on the width. any bigger than that would be too much for my needs. I guess the Medium is the perfect size, and for newer versions yet to come I would suggest Wacom to reduce the border size, concentrating mainly on the working area. My desk isn't so big, and my laptop + tablet uses a lot space. Also the access keys (shortcut) should have been placed closer to each other. Still trying to figure out the practice of it, but I'm much quicker with the laptop keyboard. Anyway, hope that I have helped new buyers! & remember there is no regret!! Students with ID proof can get 20% discount :-) http://www.robertamontagnini.com

The design and features are amazing, my biggest concern is the extreme nib wear. I used the tablet for 5 hours and the nib is already worn down. I hadn't had any problems with my old Graphire 3, the nib is still in good shape while I have used it for many years. The nibs are very expensive (5 for 20 euro with shipping and taxes). So if you have to buy a package every week than it can turn out to be an expensive business.

The Intus software driver 6.2.5 does not work with Windows 7 and Photoshop CS4 64 bit. CS4 can not be started and breaks down. Such software faults are not acceptable. I am disappointed.

this is an awesome graphic tablet. After configuration with most of my softs the intuos work great with all express keys and touchring. you can destroy your mouse and you keyboard when you work on photoshop or any other software (sry for my bad english but a advice can be helpfull to make a choice)

Having used Intuos for years, I noticed an extreme nib wear while retouching. I am a professional retoucher and work a lot with pressure sensitive tools. Therefore you can not just set the sensitivity at 0. Nib wear is that extreme that nibs run down after 4-5 days working. As long as there is no solution for this, I can not recommend to buy this version of Intuos. For graphic artists that try to mimic better the analog results the surface might help. For Photographers and retouchers I doubt so. An other cover sheet would help - like the material of the normal (not friction) Intuos 3 cover sheet.

I love the fealing of real paper, but it is wearing my nibs down so fast. Just after 1 drawing I,m forced to replace a nib. So at the moment my intuos 4 is covered in dust untill there's a solution for this problem. But besides that it's a really great device.

The new Intuos is a unbelievable Step forward. The Surface-Grip is so much better. It's an almost Paper like Feel. The new Buttons are more responsive. And the LCD Displays are great. It feels solid all over. I really recommed it.

After using Intuos 3 for several years (and really loving it!) I was looking forward to get my new Intuos 4. Unfortunately it is not without problems. -one scroll wheel, even if it can toggle between four options, can't replace the two touch strips which is faster to work with -the express keys are too small and very firm, not as responsive as the intuos 3. -radial menu is fine but the pop-up menu was very useful with its simplicity, I am missing it
